I loved this story, but I could have done with a lot less of the explicit sex scenes. One or two aren't bad, but Good Lord....sometimes I felt like all those sex scenes took more precedence than there was actual story line. Sometimes these scenes would take over 2 whole chapters at a time. I would have rather had a lot more story, than all those sex scenes.On the plus side......I absolutely loved all those great descriptions of Charlie's sculptures, and I fell in love with the Zanti misfits! When they were describing the fountains and the sculpture, I could see it so vividly in my minds eye. I also loved the way Sebastain & Charlie were able to bring out the best of each other, when no one else ever could. I loved Francine. What a total sweetheart, and brave, too. Of course no one will ever be as sweet & caring like Bob & Susan, they have to be the most lovable and caring couple I've ever met. It was also great to catch up with Will, Harper, Jeremy, Noah, and all of the other Maverick's again.
I can't say that about Whitney, though. My only hope is that Evan will someday soon wake up and see her for the hateful witch that she's become. I don't in any way, shape, or form buy that she's that way because of the miscarriages. Heck, I'm even stating to wonder if there were even miscarriages at all, and not abortions. Or if she just faked the whole pregnancy thing in the first place, just to get attention. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems aweful funny that she's so into trying to be the limelight all the time, and she very rarely bothers with anyone--- that doesn't in some way or another---serve as a purpose to her.
On the flip side, I can't wait to see what Ms. Andre has in store for Matt in the next book.

Bella and Jennifer hit a home run with "Reckless." It's the best of any of Bella's many books. I am not that familiar with Jennifer. This one has two main characters and several lesser ones. The two main characters, Sebastian and Charlie, are complete opposites and the authors take their time unweaving their complex characters through development issues that keep the reader guessing. They both know what they want, and it's each other, but getting there is the fun. Sebastian is the Maverick billionaire who rose from nothing to become a business developer. He wants a centerpiece sculpture for his new office building in central San Francisco. He spots a dragon sculpture at a church outside of Chinatown. And thus the plot unfolds, first to find the sculptor, who is Charlotte, who goes by the tomboyish name, Charlie. She is an accomplished artist, but has not sold any of her valuable works. Sebastian's quest is to convince Charlie she is an artist worthy of major bucks for her work, to convince her to do a sculpture for his office building and ultimately to convince her to share his life.
Book two of The Maverick Billionaires series is built around talented, but mostly unknown sculptor Charlie Ballard and billionaire Sebastian Montgomery. It’s a lovely romance with enough sexual tension to be interesting but what there is of a plot is based solely on their relationship and Sebastian’s emotional issues. This is the third book I’ve read of this series, not in chronological order, which is okay because each is a standalone. I really like the works of this writing duo, Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully, but thin plot aside, the characters in “Reckless in Love” are just too “good”. They’re all so unselfish and altruistic as to be less than believable. That is not to say the characters aren’t flawed but c’mon, no one is that *nice* ALL the time. Always thinking of the other’s feelings and needs? Not even a minor character with a tiny bit of black in their heart to muck up the picture? Nah, it’s unlikely and unbelievable. So, a nice light read that’s borderline fairy tale. But the writing is good so I shouldn’t be such a kvetch. (grin)
I have always loved Bella Andre's book. I read and sometimes re-read the entire Sullivan Series. When I see Bella's name I usually just buy it. I'm sorry to say that lately I've been disappointed in her books. I know she collaborated with Jennifer Sully but when her name is on it she should be the best. The story was good but so redundant. They kept saying the same lines over and over again. After awhile it was like a broken record. Come on Bella you can do a lot better.
This was such a fun and sweet romance. Both characters had some baggage and they showed the struggles throughout the story. Charlie’s talent sounds amazing and I would love to see pictures or actual sculptures like the ones described. The progression of the relationship and emotions was sweet and I adored Charlie’s Mom. As with the last book Susan is my hero and I love how smart and loving she is. I do wish the end of the book went into a bit more detail of the grand-opening rather than set up the next book, but it still was a good ending that brought the circle to a close on that story. I look forward to reading about more Mavericks and seeing how Charlie and Sebastian are doing.
